At the park is a merry-go-round that is only a dollar. He was extremely nervous at first and didn't know what to think.
When he saw daddy he was happy again.
While we were going this is what he did the whole time. He just stared at me. We call him our "cautious" baby. It takes him awhile to realize if he is going to like something or not. Apparently, he only likes the merry-go-round when it isn't moving.
Evan finally has hit 2 other milestones. Just this week a tooth started to poke out. It still is small enough that you can't see it in a picture yet. The other side is coming up too and he will soon have 2 little bottom teeth to chew with. I didn't notice he was teething at all and he hardly showed symptoms. The only thing he did was be a little sleepy that day and he slept for 13 hours straight the night before. I could get use to those type of symptoms.
Another milestone is babbling. This one has been so funny. Everyday I work on language and speech skills because I can't help myself. I feel like I do a huge therapy session to try to make him make a sound. At 2 in the morning one night he started to move and it woke me up. Then I heard, "ta, ta, ta, ta" very quietly. The next morning he woke up making the sound and that same day he started, "da and ba" talking. He now screams and shouts the sounds. It has been so fun watching him try to talk. Of course he isn't doing "ma" yet, which is what I have been practicing on him from the very beginning. Alex is excited he might say daddy first of course.
As of now Evan isn't crawling. He still just rolls to get around. He is starting to get up on all fours and rock though. He also has army crawled a few places for a short distance. He still is getting into everything just by rolling to it and pulling things towards him that we have had to baby proof. His 2 favorite things to get is the remote and one of our phones. I have extra of these but he knows they don't work and doesn't like them as well. Another thing he just started doing is fake crying to get his way. It started when I would take something away from him and give him something else. He would fuss and throw his head back with scrunching up his face. He then would look at me to see what I thought. If I did nothing then he would throw his head back again and start over. It is so funny. Alex took something from him and he complained about it forever. He did even later when he would see Alex and start complaining all over about it.
Evan is turning 9 months soon and we are planning to get his pictures taken in the next 2 weeks. I'm hoping his 2 little teeth will be easy to see and we can get some cute pictures of him smiling with them. He has been eating very well and is getting 3 solid meals a day. He loves yogurt the most and just begs for food if he watches you eat. He still is taking 3 bottles a day but is starting to not want them. I'm trying to transition him to a sippy cup to get his formula in. He never was attached to bottles because of his past so I'm hoping he really likes the cup. So far he chews it and doesn't understand to suck. I might even try just a regular cup and see how that works.
We have so much fun with Evan and he is the cutest person alive. We love having him in our home and taking him everywhere. He has been the best thing to ever happen to us and we are truly blessed to get to take care of him. We love him so much.
