I Love Daddy!

Evan yells for daddy ALL THE TIME! You hear him yell "DAD!" and he looks around. He loves when daddy is coming home and wants to spend all day with him. He even will nap on the couch with Alex if he can.
This is his favorite thing in the world right now and we are so happy he loves horses because he will be around them a lot. When we tell Evan we are going out to the horses he growls really loud. We used to not understand it but we figured out that he is trying to blow air like horses do and he does it over and over when we are outside with them.
This was an incredibly windy day and Evan had a fit when he stopped riding Popeye. Daddy tells him to hold on and has taught him to "click" his tongue and use his feet to make the horse go. He has the best time. One of these days we will have a third person to help lead the horse so I can film it, at least when it isn't too windy.

Popeye started to shake and Evan pets him and tells him "oo" (whoa). He loves everything about the horses and when he gets off the horse he helps lead him back to the barn to get unsaddled.
Alex was doing the laundry and took these pictures of Evan getting in right before bed.

This is Evan gardening with daddy. He carries the broken hoe around and pokes things.
Every time the hose is on he needs to get a drink like daddy does.

Alex was trying to fish out the dirt that was in Evan's mouth.
Here he is digging in the sandbox with daddy. No wonder he loves daddy so much. He gets to do all sorts of fun things with him. Some one remind me to have Alex take pictures so that I can be in a few too.

Evan has a spot of black hair growing on the back of his head. We also noticed some on the sides and the front after we saw this one. At first I thought he had a dirty head but when I examined it there are black hairs mixed with his blonde hair. It is pretty cool looking. We don't know if it will change to black or be a mix of brown.

Evan is such a funny kid now. He is saying all sorts of words. His favorite is "cook." He uses this word to talk about cooking shows, kitchen, or if he wants you to get him something to eat. He is also saying "book" and loves his collection. I can tell him to get his "moo, baa, la la la" book and he always picks it out. He even says "ei ei oo" for his farmer song book and knows all the pages that have kitties in them, even when they are in the background. Books are his favorite toy right now.

He is starting to be a good helper in the kitchen. He asks to stir ("ta") all the time and loves to make pancakes or waffles. He adds all the ingredients and then holds the spoon really well. His only problem is he starts off really gentle and then get a little too carried away! So far we haven't made a too big of mess yet.

He helps me vacuum everyday and still wears the headphones. He holds the cord for me and pushes the hose when we do the couch. I'm so thankful for such a good helper. What ever room we are in and what ever we are doing this big boy needs to be there. It has been tough going to the bathroom by myself but he sure loves to help with anything he can and we love it.

We are so grateful for this almost 18 month old. He is heading off to nursery this next week and it will be really nice to have a spot for him to play while at church. He has been really difficult because he just wants to wander and touch everything.

Just today we put on size 7 shoes! His feet are enormous! He is wearing 3 or 4T shirts with 2 or 3T bottoms. He is still in size 5 diaper but we need size 6 pretty soon. Last time we weighed him he was tipping the 30 lbs mark. Every where we go people mention the size of his hands and his muscular calves. It really cracks me up.
