Trip to Yellowstone

Alex, Evan, and I went camping with his family and spent a day at Yellowstone. We were able to see a mama Grizzly with her 2 cubs, bison, and elk. It was very hot and I of course got a sunburn. The pictures are out of order because blogger doesn't like me for some reason. The top picture was of our last destination, Old Faithful. It was his bedtime so he got in PJ's. He was still pretty hyper at this point even though he was living off of no sleep.
Alex and I at the scenic lower falls. Yes, I did carry a 21 lbs baby down and then back up in the front carry. So did my sister-in-law. One person during the hike said that he looked like a "very, heavy baby." Um, that's an understatement! The hardest part was going back up and Evan keeping his legs stiff. He wouldn't bend or relax so I had to keep holding them up so I could move.
When we started the lower falls walk Evan was asleep so I put him facing me. He hated it, like he always had. As you can see the whole time he pushed against me. We went a few yards and then Alex had to help switch him around.
Alex carried him during a hike but didn't use the carrier. My way was way easier I told him. Here are some funny pics of Evan looking at everyone passing us. He pooped halfway through and he loved being changed on the trail.
This boy at his 6 month check up weighed 21 lbs and was 29 inches long. Which is roughly 91st and 95th percentile.

You can see that his eyes are so blue. He also finally learned how to hold the pacifier in.

This is one of my favorite pics of Evan. He loves his blankie. Whenever we bring it out for a nap he talks to it and starts sucking the edge. He can't sleep without it. Good thing it is a blanket you can readily get at Target.

Evan is growing so fast. He hasn't started crawling yet but you can tell he really wants to. His gut just holds him down still. He sits up well but will fly back because he straightens out his legs while he sits. He also loves to stand and it's his favorite position. When he was almost 6 months Evan really started to want to eat solids. He now eats once or twice a day and can finish off stage 2 containers. He is grossed out every single time he eats but by the third bite doesn't care. He is drinking his bottle great and sleeping through the night too. We are so lucky.

We actually live in more of the southwestern region, darn it! We are going to the FSA conference this year though. Are you guys going? Maybe we'll see you there!
